Nestled near Lamb’s Rock viewpoint, our modern bungalow blends timeless elegance with comfort featuring antique teak cots, hardwood floors, and custom-made furnishings that reflect an eclectic charm. On warm, sunny days, open the balcony doors to let in the fresh mountain air and enjoy a cup of tea while taking in the views.

The space

After a busy day exploring the Nilgiris—whether it’s Ooty, Coonoor, or Kotagiri—come home to an oasis of calm. Our thoughtfully designed house blends modern comforts with antique charm and is filled with natural light throughout.

From the balcony, gaze up at the stars and down at the twinkling lights of planes passing below. Wake up to breathtaking sunrises right from your bedroom, and—on clear mornings—enjoy the mesmerizing view of the Bhavani River winding through the misty hills.

Guest access

Guests are welcome to access all areas of the house, except the basement, which houses our caretaker’s living quarters.

Our home is a spacious two-level retreat. The lower level features a bedroom, a living room, and a dining area. Upstairs, you’ll find another bedroom and an additional lounge space, accessible via an internal staircase. Both levels open onto full-length balconies—perfect for enjoying the fresh mountain air and scenic views.

Guests are welcome to use our fully equipped kitchen for self-cooking, with a nominal cleaning fee. If you’re interested in meal options, feel free to contact us—we’re happy to assist!

Other things to note

Located just 21 km from Ooty, Coonoor is renowned for its lush tea estates nestled in the rolling Nilgiri hills. Our property is uniquely positioned—with tea plantations on one side and reserve forest on the other—offering a peaceful, secluded atmosphere, especially at night. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some local wildlife from the comfort of your balcony.

Just 4 km away is Sim’s Park, a beautiful botanical garden featuring rhododendrons, roses, eucalyptus trees, and a wide variety of exotic plants. If you enjoy gardening, this is the best place in the Nilgiris to buy affordable fruit saplings and plants. Don’t miss their homemade jams and marmalades—especially the pear jam, a local favorite! These products are made from fruits grown in the park and are also supplied to Ooty’s Botanical Gardens and government outlets.

The famous Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, passes through Coonoor, offering a scenic steam train ride between Mettupalayam and Ooty.

For breathtaking views, visit Dolphin’s Nose, a popular lookout point with panoramic views of the cascading Catherine Falls. Even closer to home is Lamb’s Rock Viewpoint—just a few minutes’ walk from our doorstep—one of the most stunning vantage points in the entire Nilgiri range.
